Today your Tour Director reveals a Hidden Treasure! You'll scream "Eureka!" as you head to Sacramento and the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park where gold was found in 1848. Try your hand at panning for gold and see if you can strike it rich. Later, continue to Lake Tahoe, where you'll be treated to fantastic views from the Lake Tahoe Gondola and The Deck - a 14,000-square-foot observation platform at 9,123 feet.(Full breakfast )

Today you'll travel to a lake like you've never seen before. Mono Lake is saltier than the sea and has odd protruding formations known as tufas. Learn about the lake's history and get interesting accounts about its geology and rich birdlife from an expert. Next, travel over the Tioga Pass (weather permitting) to Yosemite. Tonight,join your Tour Director for an exclusive stargazing experience with a Park Ranger. (Full breakfast)

You and your wideeyed companions will be amazed as you ride aboard a private tram while a Park Ranger explains the park's history, geology, plant and animal life. Be sure to take the easy hike to the Yosemite Falls, the tallest waterfall in the States. This afternoon is free to pursue your own interests like a bike ride, a float down the Merced River, or a hike. This evening, after a yummy Barbecue Dinner, enjoy gooey s'mores around the campfire while hearing the local folklore. (Full breakfast / Highlight dinner) | | Day 6 | Monterey | Yosemite - San Juan Bautista - Carmel - Monterey (2 nights) :
Travel from the mountains to the sea, through the fertile San Joaquin Valley, stopping at a historic fruit stand. Then visit the historic Old Mission San Juan Bautista, and learn of its Spanish past. Arriving at the breathtaking California coast, enjoy the scenery along 17 Mile Drive, home to the Lone Cypress and the top-ranked Pebble Beach Golf Links. Nearby is Carmel, where quaint cottages look reminiscent of those from a storybook. After, you'll head to Monterey, where John Steinbeck's life comes to life at Cannery Row. (Full breakfast)

Something special is planned today - a private behind-the-scenes look at the Monterey Bay Aquarium before it opens! This exciting tour gives you a chance to see the aquarium like never before. Later, you have a choice of included activities - such as kayaking or bicycling! Traveling past Santa Cruz, arrive at Roaring Camp. Here you'll ride into the past aboard an authentic narrow-gauge steam train taking you through towering California Redwoods. As the train hisses to a stop, it's time to disembark and conclude your amazing California adventure. A complimentary transfer will take you to San Francisco International Airport and, for guests extending their stay, to the tour hotel in San Francisco. (Full breakfast)
